  • Her Majesty’s Young Offenders Institute Aylesbury has a wealth of history attached to it, dating back from 1847, and modelled around the Reading County Gaol, it is an establishment that has been developed and added to over the years. Starting as a County Gaol ('Gaol' being another word for prison) accommodating just 285 prisoners to becoming a designated long term young offenders institution in 1989.

  • Jobs

  • We have jobs that range from operational to non-operational roles. The Prison Officer role is a national campaign which is run by Shared Services, but all other roles are run by the establishment.
  • This is our opportunity to give you an insight of what is behind the red gates, and realise that there is so much more to the establishment, not just the history but all the good stories that nobody hears or writes about.
